My jointer came in perfect condition. Like most people i looked at a lot of reviews for this machine grizzly ridgid and others. A customer of mine recently bought the 8 steel city jointer and is thrilled to death with it.

Additionally it comes with a spiral cutter head that sports four sided carbide cutters. A segmented insert cutterhead. The replaceable high speed steel inserts each with two cutting edges can be rotated to a fresh edge should one get nicked. I only needed to install the parts and perform basic setup and it was ready to go.

My jointer came in perfect condition. The new 6 steel city jointer 40640 1 200 has both a granite fence and a granite bed. It is the first time using a jointer and it appears to work well. This type of cutter offers the benefit that if one side gets nicked you can simply turn the insert and use a different edge.
